Celebrating Mums Life 14th July 2026 - 11 Year Anniversary
Mum i miss you so much, today i honour you on youre 11th anniversary of your passing on 14th July 2026 As you Mum instilled belief in myself to achieve my dreams of Koala Audiobooks i remember with a warm heart the chats the laughs of us planning together Koala Audiobooks Mum would yell out " ok get the white board out, lets do some more planning of you recording stories around Australia " we sat down and discussed where to go in the PY Lands of South Australia, the Kimberley in Western Australia, Arnhem Land, Cape York and Daintree rainforest in Queenland, we also collabotated on all my past award winning radio documentaries how i would re-edit these into audiobooks, as one night watching Big Bang Theory together back in 2014 Mum yelled out - that Sheldon is a dickhead, roaring with hard belly laughs, Mum then turned to me and said - " all youre radio documentaries in the shed you should turn them into audiobooks, i raced to the shed, grabbed the box full of DATS from 90's and Mini Discs from early 2000's, put them on the coffee table and we both just smiled as again i could re-invent my life by producing audiobooks but it didnt come easy, was 6 years hard work editing 35 stories from 2015 to 2020 as i spent all of 2020 covid year in lockdown building Koala Audiobooks with Shopify, so planning with Mum was fun, i had goals in steps to achieve, produced 5 stories in a caravan in the western desert from 2015 - 2016 then in 2017 i produced 8 stories in a house in the western desert, thus i now had 13 stories in 3 years, then i set a major goal of 22 stories in 2 years from 2018 - 2019 and i achieved it, so thats 11 stories in 2018 then another 11 stories in 2019 but covid lockdown in 2020 forced me to build my website faster, as i said to myself ok i have 35 stories instead of 50 was my goal, but 35 stories is enough for my website Koala Audiobooks, so Thanks Mum You instilled in me to achieve my dreams so thanks to you Mum i now get downloads from 12 countries, Australia, America, South Africa, England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Germany, Holland, Brazil, Sweden and Norway, also over 20 countries play my audio samples every 24 hours, at times i see over 100 people live playing audio samples on the website, so i am living my dreams as downloads happen when i even sleep, its a feeling of pure joy that the world loves Koala Audiobooks, some customers will play an audio sample once then download that story or maybe 7 times then download a story, so you empower yourself deciding what story on land, animals, mining, Indigenous Australia, human rights, services, environment, war, history. So today i say thanks for giving me a great life Mum - youre loving Son who is now world wide with Koala Audiobooks
