I Travelled Across Remote Australia - Black Soil Roads of the Kimberely
Black Soil Roads of the Kimberely

I Travelled Across Remote Australia was the most downloaded Koala Audiobooks in 2024
Here we see a major dirt road in the Kimberely region, much of the remote communities only have dirt roads and are washed out from flash floods during the wet season
We hear how dirt roads are being compacted like cement with blackw soil thus are rock hard when the floods come
As we always say here at Koala Audiobooks it's best to play this audio sample - enjoy

Barramundi Fish Farm of the Tiwi Islands is in full production mode meaning were about half way through editing this story from about 20 years ago back in 2005
We produced this story for hundreds of community radio stations using our own mini disc recorder with our own small recoding booth to record scripts

Aunty Magdaline Cottas Living in Cape York - the short people in the forest can bush you meaning trick you

At the top of Cape York are 2 remote communities, Bamaga and Seisa. Both small towns are only a few kilometres apart and are surrounded by forests. We sat down with Aunty Magdaline Cottas and recorded her life story over a few hours
As we say here at Koala Audiobooks, it's best to play her audio sample on our website here as you will be amazed what she talks about
In a chapter she talks of the short people in the forests can bush you, they can trick you,
" Oh i been here, but no it's not the same place " - enjoy playing her audio sample as she also sings in Creole what she sings on her sailing boat
We sat on the tip here of Cape York but you have to be careful with Crocodiles going by so we were very aware
Native Title Land - Part 1 President of Tribunal - Part 2 Mediator of Tribunal

Welcome to Native Title Part 1 with the President of the Native Title Tribunal and Native Title Part 2 with a Mediator of the Native Title Tribunal based in the city of Perth in Western Australia
One of the main reasons why we have such an understanding of Native Title Land Laws in Australia is because back in the 1990's over 30 years ago we set up a National News Bulletin with the Native Title Tribunal entitled NTN - Native Title News - We would record the 10 minute news bulletin & then produce it for Community Radio Stations
It took us over 6 months to book & record these interviews as we had to go through the right process of getting permission from the media officer which included questions.
Thus we then flew to Perth and recorded 2 interviews for Native Title Part 1 & 2 - As we always say here at Koala Audiobooks, it's best to play both audio samples of both ladies in their professions who are experts on land laws involving Native Title
Part 1 - the President explains how England forced it's concept of European Land Laws of a notion called Terra Nullias meaning empty land but Australia had an Indigenous population with their own land laws & customs
Part 2 - a Mediator explains how she mediates between groups such as mining how they can mediate with Indigenous communities for a process of Land Agreements that empower both groups with sustainable livelihoods
Both Native Title stories have been downloaded several times from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland where millionaires live as they get to understand that their homes & land are protected as their Freehold land Extinguishes Native Title under Land Laws
