The Ord River of the Kimberley is a spectacular river in the far north of the Kimberely region of Australia, over the decades there has been much controversy over damming the Ord River for irrigation of plantations in towns such as Kunnunurra

We recorded an important speech at a conference where many issues were raised about the Ord River Economy and how people have created sustainable livelihoods in growing fruit and vegetables but what could be done better to protect the environment and biodiversity of this region

Here we see a major dirt road in the Kimberely region, much of the remote communities only have dirt roads and are washed out from flash floods during the wet season
